Belgium Meets the Philippines: A Culinary Celebration
On April 2nd, the city of Brussels was graced with the aromatic allure of the Philippines. The Philippine Food Festival was not just a mere event, but a celebration of culture, taste, and homecoming for many Filipinos living in the heart of Europe. We were honored to be a part of this delightful extravaganza and, as we reminisce, we wish to send out our warmest thanks to all those who made it possible.
Our journey at the festival was marked by the camaraderie of fellow kababayans (countrymen). Such events remind us that even miles away from our motherland, the spirit of the Filipino community remains undiminished. Our love for food, an inherent part of our culture, brought us together in Brussels, making the event even more special.
Our deepest gratitude extends to the incredible team of Philippines Food Festival Brussels headed by Louise Baterna, their tireless efforts ensured the festival was a grand success. Without your dedication and passion, none of this would have been possible.
One of the highlights of our participation was offering free tastes of our ice creams - Ube Delight, Mango Fiesta, and Pandan Party. The reactions and feedback were beyond gratifying! To see eyes light up with joy, and smiles of nostalgic recognition, made our day.
But that wasn’t all! Our original Pinoy chicharon in three tantalizing flavors - Original, Hot & Spicy, and Salt & Vinegar - flew off the shelves, much to our delight. We're thrilled that our interpretation of this classic Filipino snack resonated with so many.
In closing, our hearts are brimming with gratitude. The Philippine Food Festival in Brussels wasn't just an event for us; it was an affirmation of our shared heritage, our mutual love for food, and our unbreakable community bonds.
We eagerly look forward to the next gathering. So, dear readers, stay connected! We promise more delightful treats and updates on where our culinary journey will take us next.
Till then, mabuhay and maraming salamat po to all!
